I'm talking specifically the R&M pod but I'm sure any would be similar or same:

Obviously you need to cut out the inner area to mount a camera and presumably lights(?) but I'm wondering, do you use Lexan\plexi or what to cover the outside then? How would be a good way to fasten and weather seal it?
I really liked Gumpy's docking lights that he mounted in the rear cap (I think it was him), maybe I should ask him how he did that?
Does anyone have an R&M dash wrap around? ( http://www.rm-fiberglass.com/bus/parts/199-173.html )
If so, are they hard to mount? I mean after the relative pleasure and nightmare of planning out your new cluster and buying the new gauges etc. Is the dash it's self difficult to mount? I have one here but have no instructions if any came with it so I'll be winging it.

I elected not to use a pod for my backup camera. The camera is already weatherproof and has a small shield above it. I don't think a pod would make it look much better.
Just my opinion.
dax, i used glass on my pod and sealed it with the silicone made for fish tanks problay the same as other silicone i used glass because plexi and lexan starches so easy.as to your dash call Richard at R&M 1-800-350-1650 and he will help you out if he not playing music somewhere
I have been considering not cutting the pod and mounting the camera up above but the pod is there so....
Besides, I wanted to put a second camera in there as well and also a forward looking one mounted to sight through the windshield and then put them on modulators so that people can see forward or aft on any tv by tuning into the assigned channel. I could tune in and see how my other half who is much more of a daredevil is doing driving while I'm lying down in back.
Just one of my bizarre ideas....

I installed a camera pod from R&M. I think it looks good. I wanted the protection for the camera and also an area for a couple of lights. For now I just used pop rivets to install it. Later when I paint the bus I might blend it in with fiberglass. I made sure the wiring was waterproof when it was installed. I guess I thought that if ever I had a camera problem it could be removed easily.
Have not yet decided on the dash.

When you planning on installing the dash? I will be installing on in about a month on a 9 that I'm doing an interior on. If I get to mine first I'll let you know how it went.
For a camera pod I saw someone use the angled metal exhaust vent for a dryer. why spend the $115 from R&M? Smaller and can be made to work just as well!

I doubt I'll be doing a whole lot on the dash immediately since I'm starting on pulling up my floors and laying down new wood..... and looking at air beams. I'm sure that'll keep me frustrated and really busy for some time but I'd really be very interested in your progress. Please keep me in mind and feel free to shoot me pics or post them or whatever.

The bus already has a full R&M kit on it so that's just how I got it. Frankly I doubt I'd be able to afford all the stuff the previous owner already did on it.
I didn't see any need to have a pod so just mounted the camera with it's own cover. I put the monitor in the place where the entertainment equip was in the dash. Jerry
I used the $5.00 plastic dryer vent hood and painted it to match the bus. Made a cover from a piece of plexiglass.
