Title: Thrust Bearing Lubrication
Post by: LarryN 4106 on October 07, 2007, 01:10:36 PM
My lubrication hose to my clutch bearing (with zerk on the end of it) has become disconnected, and frankly I don't have any idea where it is. Is it possible to access the attach point where there is probably a part of the hose still attached? I could remove it and attach another. I do not have a lubrication "cup" as the manual shows. I would sure hate to have to remove the transmission just to get at that bearing. Thanks in advance.

Larry,do you have an inspection cover on the bottom of the bellhousing?
Should be able to rotate the bearing (engine not running,of course) to locate the fitting.
I drilled a real tiny hole in one on a 1954 Flx Clipper, used the needle style adapter for my grease gun and shot some grease in it.
Found a real small rubber plug, good til the next PM.
Hope this might help you.  8)
