Title: Drive axle slack adjusters
Post by: Mike in GA on May 22, 2006, 02:48:03 PM
I had no trouble adjusting the slacks on the steers and tags, on my MC 96A3, but do I need a pit to get at the ones on the drives? I had my bus tires 4 inches off the ground, and had some maneuvering room, but coundn't even see the adjuster nut.
Any tips out there?

Mike,
Make some run-up blocks out or 3 or more plies of 2x12s. Bottom layer should be at least 48" long.

The biggest issue with drive axle adjustment is having to release park brakes to adjust slacks. Chock tires in several places, because you don't wanna die performing this job.
