I use butyl rubber tape. Available at most RV Service & Parts stores.  They usually have both putty tape and butyl rubber tape.  They look almost identical (both grey and about 1/8" thick X widths of 1/2" to 1"), but the butyl rubber works much better.  Jack

I have been very happy with Dichor - sealer adheasive used on rubber roofs.  Seals anything, permanently.  Available in tubes from any RV dealer.  About $6 a tube.

Sikaflex 252 is a urethane based adhesive/ sealant that comes in 10.5 oz. caulking tubes. It sets up fast and strong, and stays flexible for expansion and contraction. It's amazing stuff. You can order it from Ellsworth Adhesives. 1-800-888-0698.

I'm with Jack about the butyl tape.  It's not 'permanent' like some of the other sealers, which sounds like what you need (for future removals).  One tip about using it... keep it fairly cool prior to applying it.  It's sticky as hell when it gets hot!  In fact, I try to remember to keep in in the house so it's usable when I need it.

If Sikaflex was used wouldn't the window never come out again?

For johnjem, Butyl tape is available pretty thick if need be.

The PO sealed my 4104 windows with Silicone RTV and they not only are permanently sealed but I can't even get to the silicone to cut through it. Silicone cuts easily but this setup is inaccessible.

At least they don't leak, but I'm in big trouble if I ever need to replace a glass panel.

thanks, Gus.  I used the stuff that penninsula glass (HB300..hard to work with..never sets up by design) sent to install mine except for one where I could not get to the inside to install all the screws in the trim ring.  I used RTV silicone in the hopes it would hold the window in but had some concerns
