Title: 8v71 tranny oil pump

ok i have 2 motors as we all know and 1 just below the compersser there what the book says is the tranny oil pump?? now the motor that i took the bad 8v71  has a block off plate on the area <any body know what this realy does the motor that has the pump installed does has lines coming off that do nothing? and there are no extra holes in my tranny 730 where that would go any ideas??

I don't know anything about the 730 transmission and an external oil pump but my power steering pump is in the location you describe.

what i beleave is my power steering pump is just above the compresure but i may be wrong??i will get a pic later of it

I think the pump you are referring to is the oil pump for a manual trans. the two lines on the pump go from pump to "in-out" fittings on man. trans.

Igot it guys it is the aux pump driven by left rear cam i took pump off and gear and just installed a block off plate<it seems or is just what they did on my old 8v71>i just wanted to know what it was befor i tore it apart

it can be used for anything such as tranny oil,fluid for a fan ,fluid pump for a/c it was used for a bunch of different things
