Title: About KY Lakeside Travel's Rally(s) next YEAR~! might be a little early or not!
Post by: Busted Knuckle on September 26, 2007, 09:26:41 PM
OK I gotta be honest here! This YR's Rally and any and all in the FUTURE, were, are, and will be DALLAS & CAT'S RALLY @ KY Lakeside Travel LLC's place and I don't give a rats behind what CAT, DALLAS or anybody else calls it! But in the future the credit should go to the company Dad founded (with mom & my help) since it pays the rent on the shop/property, electric bill, water bill, & etc. & DALLAS & CAT since they do all the hard work to make it a SUCCESS!

Now comes the great part! (at least I think it's great!)

I told dad Next YR if our buses leave here while the rally is on, they will be driven by hired drivers! Oh yeah, ya'll read that right! And he just shrugged and said ahh maybe !?!?!?! OK ya just gotta know dad a little bit to understand this is a milestone! LOL! Mom said that'd be neat!

Now to give some other credit where it's do!

CAT gave MOM a tour of their bus, Mike & Jay Hill's Transit bus, Captin Ron's Bus, and Mike & Jay Hill's NJT MC9 (that Ron is building cabinets in) today, and she's acting like she's got the BUG! She really thought Dallas' & Cat's bus roomier inside than she'd thought from looking at it from the outside! The Transit was cute (just needs some major cleaning and finishing touches/updates). Ron's was NEAT and just perfect for a Biker bachelor or even a young couple! She really didn't know about Mike & Jay's 9 except that she liked the work Ron is doing and loved the Jacuzzi tub, but would need to see it when more is done before she was sure about it. Then she asked and just when & what is Frank gonna do with his bus?

I think we got something started here! So the idea in my mind is to find out who is interested in a spring fling, a fall fling either/or or both!

OK first off I got some plans I want to implement on the grounds (#1, is to acquire a bush hog & there are others) so's we can have more cool spots available (such as where Uncle Ned & Lovely wife Wilma, & Don Fairchild parked!) Remember anything I we do will need to be sorta low buck as it will be destroyed (2 our lo$$) when I-69 comes thru the middle of the place someday!

But with the great group of folks that did make it, and had a great time I wanna be able to make it more enjoyable and be able to enjoy it myself, along with any and everybody who makes it to the ones in the future!

Now there is a good sign when Mom likes what she is seeing as she really had no clue that converted buses (or the busnuts who build/own) were so neat! And given time Dad, will come around too! He did enjoy meeting, the people who came and even enjoyed what little of the buses he saw! Of course while giving credit where credit is do. I have to give Sean & Louise credit for stopping by and giving all of us the tour of the awesome Odyssey !
I really feel it made Mom & Dad curious about the rest of the buses around here they really hadn't paid much attention too up to that point! I think we may have them after the bait, next we gotta set the hook!

But I do see more rallies happening wherever we end up when the HWY comes thru! So come on folks let us know what ya think!

BK, I think you can count us in for next year, depending on when you set the date, and we'll help out in anyway we can.  We'll have our music set up with us and that might come in usefull.

I just asked the mrs what she thinks about us heading your way for the next rally, she said yep, great sounds like fun, so with the wardens saying ok, then it's a go lol. I figure to try to get the bus a little further along as I can, got to do stuff like put a hitch on and set up the truck for towing, the jeep is already set for it but am taking the truck.  Our schedule for next year is our last spring wedding to do is May 8th, then we'll be heading for wisconsin to spend the summer at an RV resort there, we'll be getting free camping for the summer in exchange for one night of music a month, so we'll be conciderably closer to things and hopefully can see if anyone has a coffee pot going now and then. lol really looking forward to being able to meet some of you guys.

Cody, no one said that you have to wait for a rally to come by here.  We always have a coffee pot on with fresh coffee.  We also have water, electric and a dump site that is available at all times.  We enjoy the one on one as much as we enjoy the rally's.  Pop on over anytime you have the chance.

Ned, you know you are also welcome in "your" spot any time you pass this way.  Say hello to Wilma and give Sam a pat on the head for me.  Cat

I appreciate that cat, I need to get the hitch on first so I can drag the truck along.

Bryce;

I will be there and would like my spot next to ned & Wilma if you please. what a great time I had, it was a pleasure meeting everyone. Look forward to seeing everyone again. On the grass thing you might look for a biomass cogen plant or a compost business close to you they might take the grass for you, If not see if anyone around you has a swather that would cut the grass for you. You could also rent a flail mower and cut it. Ned I could use some more of that water you gave me, it was smoooooth.
Thanks

Don

Don the spot is yours! I'll check into the giving away the grass (in years past they always tried busting us for selling "GRASS", I just wonder they can't arrest you for giving it away can they? LOL!). Yeah you thought you'd seen it all when ya got to see Ron riding "butch" on a honda, and yer truck get hit not once but twice in as many minutes (we'll make a special parking place for it up in the garage @ the house! LOL!). But then to top it all off you could've seen Ron on a ferry ride (ok well all of us rode the ferry, but Ron made it sound funniest when he said "what a week-end first I get caught having to ride {bitch} on a HONDA, and now I'm caught riding a ferry!")
Anyway you and Uncle Ned will be the offical toll collectors as people pass by YOUR CORNER!

If I had known I would have stayed. Maybe my truck would not have gotten thumped. I hope there are pic,s avaliable of Ron ridding that ferry. Shure liked seeing him ridding B on A honda,LOL Maybe some black mail is in order here. I had a great time. Thank you one and all. I look forward to see you-all again soon.

O and gary those jakes that I got from you work just fine, they had 12v solonoids on them so i did not have to change a thing. I wish I would of had time to get the heads also. Maybe you could send them to me some time.

Sorry I have not been on the board after getting back but have been busy fixing an exhaust leak on my bus and I have a 16V92 from the state of cal I am rebuilding  and am I the process of moving the shop across town, Have to get the phones and computer hooked up at the new place, so I won't be on very much for a couple of weeks. If you e-mail me it might take a few days to respond but I will get back to you.

Thanks again cat, dallas, bryce and mom and dad, And every one that was there, O Dallas did you ever get jerry to let you retorque the heads on his enging for him. Did it stop that noise.

Jarry when do you think you might be in the mood to venchure out here to cal.

Don,

I checked the torque on Jerry's heads and they were within spec.
I did find that Hole #1 valves were set at .032 and the valves on Hole #2 was set at .003.

I set them back to spec and that seemed to take care of that annoying vibration.

Oh, and I have a 6V71 setting here just begging for the parts you promised to turbo it!  ;D

I'll bet once I get the VS2-8 transmission in it and dump the VH9, it'll be the fastest hill climbing baby fishbowl in the whole Mississippi river valley!

We're glad you got home safely and hope the move across town goes smoothly!
