Title: Changing linkage on MCI (crash boxes) to shorter stroke.....
Post by: NCbob on May 19, 2006, 04:15:37 PM
Had to move the bus todat to have a pair of windshields installed.  Guess I didn't realize until today that I was moving the shift lever so far from one gear to the next.

Has anyone ever changed the linkage to shorten it up on the Spicers?  Sure would be nice to have a shorter stroke.

HI Bob& Folks:

Bob, the long throw is probably do to worn parts in the linkage.

A thorough examination of same should reveal where you are loosing your accuation.  Attention to the parts in those areas should reduce the shift throw.

I Hope this HELPS!!

Happy & SAFE!! Bussin' to ALL.
