Today is a great day.
Doesn't even matter what day it is!
The reason I think its great, tomorrow we take a trip with our family in the bus.
I love the buzz of excitement as everyone gets all that last minute stuff done.
Checking the fluids and test running the engine and generator.
That big Detroit going...rr...voom
You can almost smell the anticipation.
We have committed to getting the bus out one weekend a month with the family.
If you needed a pep talk to take that partially done bus out, this is it.
Its a blast and the most fun you can legally have with your clothes on. :o
See ya on the road!
Cliff
Yeah, we love those moments too... But we generally lose it when we are about 15 miles from home and have to turn around and go back for all the stuff we forgot! haha
Just kidding... This is good inspiration, Cliff. I think most of us need it from time to time.
Ya ain't wrong Cliff......................................................... ya ain't wrong. ;)
I'm jonesin for another trip myself.
Have a ball!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Chaz
Cliff,

I know about all anticipation, I am chomping at the bit to finally take ours out for a spin. Next week is getting closer!
Have fun on your outing! Be Safe!

When I read the Subject line, Cliff, I had a few thoughts but the main one was: How can it be the best day of the week when I'm in NC and he's in FL and we're not sitting around with Mason and company have a few adult beverages...but then, knowing you...I very quickly got the message that you, Julie and the children we taking Rosie for another great week-end.
I could read the anticipation in your post and knowing how much you and the family enjoy your little sojourns
I almost envy you...(boo-hoo :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( (my bus is broke and I have to fix it).
Have a great time and tell us all about it when you get back. :D
Bob
I know what you mean, Cliff
I just had a 4-day jaunt to Hot Springs, NC. Thought I was gonna flame somebody before that and quit the Board ::) LOL, I was quite anxious though.
No doubt about it "The Bus is Good for the Soul" :)
I thank this board for helping me have a safe uneventful trip!
What's your itenerary Cliff?
Have a good time cliff! I do the same and go out at least once a month with the incom;lete bus but each month it's a little farther along. Jerry

I have a rule for this, Once I close the gate, If it doesn't breath air to survive, we will learn to live without out! Ha!

my bus is broke and I have to fix it.
That might make a good destination sign message? 8)
Cliff
Yee Haa!
Just got back from another fun filled trip in ye Ole Coach!
Ended up having to say I was 35' So I could get into the park, I had reservations, pulled into the pull through it was about 70' of straight pull in, I always want to ask "what gives" but not to push my luck.
Ended up in a great spot, only a short walk over to a crystal clear spring, had a small group of Deer come by every night and the kids fed one out of there hand, home made ice cream, made doughnuts...ahhhh!
The Bus ran great and all went as expected. I had one minor issue with a PO fix that I found, (over two years later) that I will discuss in another thread, but the trip was great...
Hope all of your weekends were fun too!
Cliff
Cliff,
I am curious, where did ya'll go? Paula wants to feed a deer. A couple weeks ago she got to hold a marmoset monkey. Glad to hear yall had a good time and the bus ran good. Jack
Thanks for the report Cliff - it definitely put a smile on my face. ;D
Best Regards, Phil
Jack,
Manatee Springs State Park.
Site #93, There goes my secret! :P
I promise this is the best site...Period..
There site only shows 35' spots, but NO problem on this one site. Unhook the toad before entering campground.
Tell them your 35' if they ask, only close point was the turn near the high 80's sites, go wide and watch the tree on the drivers side... I did a back up and no problem...Could have made it if I went wider...
The deer, two groups of 5-7, walked by our site near sunset, every day, Kelsey threw a small piece of bread and we had friends. They were just tame enough from being around people, but could do a turn and 15' jump if startled.
This is our NEW best state park for in state trips.
Cliff
Jack,
Good memories and friends to share it with. Great.........
To bad Monday starts another work week.........well I guess it ain't so bad to pay for a habit
that gives wonderful weekends.
Skip
Cliff,
Sounds like you had a good time.
35 footer huh, if it works go for it! ;D
Thanks for sharing your experience with us. Glad to hear you saw some wildlife, that's what fun going out into the wild blue yonder!
Paul
IN the early early 70's cousin Mike and I would canoe down the lazzzy Suwannee staying at all the springs along the way. 103 miles and end up at Manatee springs, what fun we had. Thanks for sturring up those old memories Cliff.
Danny
Cliff - I didn't know your bus was named "Rosie" - so's mine
Jack Conrad - was just down south of Zolfo Wednesday - almost ran over 4 or 5 deer on Moffit - so if Paula wants to see some deer (another thread) that would be a good place to go - HTH
Another great family FL state park is near Rainbow Springs in Dunnellon - you can tube down the Rainbow river (lotsa River Otters) and get picked up/ dropped off by Dragonfly outfitters in Dunnellon - FWIW
Hi Cliff,
Glad you and the family had a great weekend and got home safely without any mishaps. ;)
Hmm, soon come we'll all be at Table Top for another great weekend too. As the Rabbi said when he picked up the knife, "It won't be long now!"
Bob
Niles,
Have you ever taken the coach to Rainbow Springs?
I am thinking about doing a pre reservation drive by to make sure I can fit, unless you can confirm!
On "Rosie", NCBob was referring to "Rosie Toes" our half Dachshund/Half Chihuahua or better known as a Chaweiner dog,
who travels with us and our gang.
But I am still working on a name.
Cliff
Bob,
Really looking forward to seeing You and Jackie soon.
Just been too darn long!
Cliff
Cliff - Yes I've taken the bus - the RV/State Park is east of dunnellon (follow the signs) between SR40 and SR 484 east of US 41 - not only is the State park close by, but I've gone to the back side of the Park (west side) slowly - "watch" the overhead branches and take it slow - they say its for tents only - but I listen to no-one (long story) (Cliff I can't wait to tell you the "stories" of where I couldn't go" but this is a no-brainer) - Dragonfly will give you all the info - great breakfast place about 1 mile S/O SR484 on 41 - you should have seen me make the 3 point turn for breakfast - the locals were impressed - LOL
If you need more info - call me anytime eight one three two six seven five four eight six - HTH
