Let me tell you a story about our two to three month vacation, that only lasted two weeks. We started on our journey to Missouri for our family reunion, boy was it hot.
I'll start with the smallest first, the engine temperature gauge on the dash was twenty degrees off, no problem, we'll fix it later. Next the cruise control stopped working, this may not be a problem for some people, but with my arthritis in my knees and ankles, I couldn't go to far each day, but we kept on going. I noticed that I was getting more and more play in the steering wheel and couldn't keep a straight line.
We decided we better go back home, we stopped at the rest area's to rest my arms and legs. While traveling across 80 we noticed that we were losing power, so at a truck stop I changed the fuel filters.
While we were at one of the rest area's we lost the fuel pump in the generator. Do you think it was caused by the new fuel, the generator not getting enough power or was it just time for it to go?
Now the story of the cruise control, in the year 2000 we bought a Cruise King control for the bus in 2004 it went out, when I called the company they said it was because I power washed the motor and it got into the power box. So I ordered another unit in 2004 not knowing if I ever power washed the motor or not. Now this year the cruise control went out again, called the company and they said we power washed the motor, I told them that I never power washed the motor and they told me to return both units, because I still had the old one. The new unit was still under warranty, now yesterday UPS returned both units back fully repaired at no cost to me they repaired both units. It's really nice to know that a company will stand behind their products, even the one that was not under warranty anymore, they repaired them both at no charge.
For the steering, the steering box had to be completely rebuilt and new drag link, now I hope the steering will be great, I haven't taken it out yet. It seems to be no play in the wheel, before I had 1/2 to 3/4 turn in the wheel to keep the bus straight. When we get the cruise control in and the fuel pump (which is still on order) in we'll take it for a ride.
Hope this didn't bore you, but I just wanted to tell you about my great mini vacation.

I also installed a Cruise King, but had to install it to pull down on the gas pedal since I have an air throttle that also operates the transmission throttle modulator (V730). I mounted the unit in the dash on the right side and ran the cable down through the floor and looped it back up to the gas pedal where I made a plate that bolted to the gas pedal for the cable to pull down on. Also installed the speed generator in line with the speedo generator on the transmission. The only problem I had to get it to work was that the brake light switch senser wouldn't work. Found out since I have LED brake lights, there wasn't enough resistance detected, so King told me to put a 100ohm resister (if I remember right) in line to a ground, and that solved it. The cruise control works just about as well as I'd expect-am very happy with it. Good Luck, TomC
There are days....that I feel like that little character in the old Li'l Abner comic strips by All Capp. That ought to date me for sure ???.
There was this little guy who lived his whole life with a black cloud over his head, I think his name was Joe Bstlefik (or something like that) but he couldn't have bought a good day if he was a millionaire. :P
Looks like you've had yours. Let's hope there aren't any more in the near future. But it is good to hear that a company who sells to us does, in fact, stand behind their products. Sort of renews your faith in your fellow man. ;)
Bob
Bob,
It was Joe Bfstplk. But my favorite was senator Jack S Phogbound, there is no Jack S like our Jack S. Only us old farts remember Lil Abner.

We're rather a 'unique' group, Cliff. But treat us reverently...you never know when you might need a history lesson! :D
