I have a 24V. alt. that is air cooled 225 amp. It has a 4 belt pulley Would anyone out there have the 4 belt pulley that goes on the moter? If not, any ideas where I might find one.

I made a mistake(I Forget how many that is }, and let my nephew help me take off the pulley to replace the seal behind it. He put the puller on the outside belt slot and it broke. So now it's only good for three belts.

If your bus AC system has been removed the demand on the alternator is going to be way less than it used to be and 3 belts may be enough.
Your story does explain the brassy colour and roughness I noticed on parts of the outer pulley lip on my alternator. I wondered what happened to require building up of that outer section so I imagine your nephew is not the only one to make that mistake
Try running it on 3 belts...most of the older buses manage well on 3....particularly if you've taken the OTR A/Cl out of the picture. Might just as well be hung for a sheep as a lamb!

I still have and use my OTR and use it alot(Texas). I can try 3 belts but I'd like to have 4 to be sure. I just thought , out of all the guys on the board, someone would have one laying in a corner somewhere around the Bus Stuff.
