Title: MC-8 Air bag Replacement
Post by: MedicNovo on August 23, 2007, 09:15:39 AM
Ok, I fired up the bus yesterday and realised it had a lean to it.  After some investigation I found a leak in the drivers side rear air bag.  So my question is how much is an air bag and where can I get one?  Is this a project I can do myself if I can get the bus on a lift?  I live in northeast Ohio.  The last place I took my bus in to, charged me $3k for new kingpins.  Im hoping this will cost less.  The bus is a 1975 MC-8.
Thanks
John

John, You can buy them from Mohawk. Free shipping and probally about 70-80.00. I can find the 800 number for you if you wish. No lift needed, best to remove the wheels on that side and block up and block at the stop. You must be sitting on the stop if the bag is that bad. Remove the old one first to see if you need rings and bolts. Are you sure it is the bag? Nice to hear from someone only 3 hrs away.  Tom Y
