Seems like mine takes the same oil as I put in the crankcase 40wt Delo.

What does the maintenance manual call for, or is the system not original?

Typically- if you have Sheppard you use 15w-40 engine oil.  If you have any other, use ATF.  Good Luck, TomC

MCI 5 and 7 with Ross power steering called for #10 non detergent oil.

I've been using non-detergent 30wt in my MC-8.  It has the OE steering box.  I believe the manual calls for either/or 30 or 40 wt.  I'm sure a 12 has a more modern steering box than my 8.

I have a Sheppard system. Luke told me to use 30wt. He didn't say non-detergent so I just used what I had around the house. So far so good. Why non-detergent?

Less frothing, which causes cavitation and pump go broke
