Title: What type of starter switch did GM use for the 4106?
Post by: Barn Owl on August 17, 2007, 02:49:46 PM
What type of starter switch did GM use for the 4106?

I see that it must be a DPDT by looking at the schematics (Six spades on the bottom) and had one momentary position. My question is was it a two position or three? I'm trying to fix things the right way.

Example:

Three position with one position momentary: (on)-off-on

Two position, one momentary: (on)-off

Thanks,

Laryn

Laryn, pretty sure mine was (on) off. And not that it matters, but normal was down, start (momentary) was up. Switch was forward of the rotary dial, aft of the emergency shutdown. I hate to tell you how many times I pushed that switch up... and nothing happened.

See the pic of old Blue Velvet's almost OEM switch-set.

HTH,
Brian

Laryn,
Once you  determine what kind of switch you need, you probably can get it from Cole-Hersee.  I have a catalog.  Also, you can check with Flee Pride on Shenandoah Ave. in Roanoke. (800 block?)
