I had my tip out, rattly transit windows replaced by single pane Peninsula windows about a year and a half ago.  They were custom made to the opening, and because of the shape of the window opening, could only use windows that were screwed in on the outside with no inside vanity ring.  I helped the installer since these were such large windows (78 x 42).  I can say that if you have an assistant to help lift into place and hold the window while you screw it in, the two of you will easily be able to do the window install.

If I were doing it again, I would skin over the entire side of the bus and then recut my windows to a more normal size-then I could have used double paned windows.  But-the single pane windows I have with a light tint are a giant improvement over the old transit windows.  Now the bus is so air tight, I leave the Fantastic fan in the bathroom cracked open all the time-otherwise your ears pop when the outside door is shut.  Good Luck, TomC

as I understand it the MC8 Penninsula windows are direct replacement for the MCI panes...I have never taken them apart though

I installed all my own on my MC7. They are double pane sliders, they were a perfect fit. Once you remove the old windows, (just remove the top hinge pins), I placed them on some plywood on a couple of saw horses, and the rest was simple. They were quite heavy to do alone, but it wasn't bad. Peninsula made the replacements the right size, and it went well.

I understand that the frames are reused for installing Peninsula windows.  I have a factory slider window on the front passenger side and rear driver side window.  I'm not sure how these would install, as the slider and non slider windows are different on an MC-8.  I'm curious about this too, as I'll (eventually) replace my windows with thermal sliders.
