Title: OTR A/C QUESTION
Post by: sivrtnge2 on August 06, 2007, 11:46:00 AM
It looks like I had an aftermarket O.T.R. a/c system. How would one go about checking the lines up to the front of the coach, if there is no compressor???
The way the lines are taped off, I think the problem was with the compressor. But, because I don't know how long the compressor has been removed, I thought it would be a good idea to at least pressure check them. I think this was the sanden type compressor because of the way the hoses hook up with a bolt threaded in the center. Please advise!!!

Hi Bill,

You can just try and fill the lines with air to see what you are up against.

If the air holds for 24 hrs, then you will have to flush, and evecuate the system.

Then do a vacuume hold down to 28inches for another day.

What do you have in mind for a compressor?

Nick...I don't know.  Thought that if all check out ok, I would probably just go back to the Sanden model.  What would you suggest?

Luvrbus...This is the aftermarket dash/driver ac.

Hi Bill,

That would be easiest...

Just make sure that the lines are Very Clean inside. Maybe hire a local HVAC guy to proform the clean out task

Good Luck
