We have spent quite a bit of money on Day/Night blinds which, of course, included a sufficient number of hangers and screws but absolutely no advice on the proper tensioning of the cords. It never ceases to amaze me how RV manufacturers assume you are having someone else install their product or really could care less if you're satisfied with the product.
Frankly, I know all the reasons why we might have bought other blinds which were cheaper from Lowes and other suppliers but since we wanted to match some existing blinds we went the way we did. Oh, I forgot...Ace is no longer on this board. :o
Would someone more experienced with the installation and adjustment of these great blinds please take a few moments and give me some tips on their proper adjustment?
Thanks,

Hi NC Bob, Jack from NC here!
On my travel trailer the two "Guild strings on either side are very tight, just enough slack (If you call it slack) to allow you to move the shade out over obstructions such as window cranks, but not enough to be loose. In othe words, not as tight as a banjo string, move like a guitar string.
If you need photos I can go out to the camper and take some.
Hope that helps!
Jack
and it is a little trial and error too. If the blind falls while you're driving, its too loose, if its too hard to move its too tight. You can adjust by moving the screw on the bottom that holds the guide string, or by untying and retying the knot that holds it to the screw.
I had to re adjust some of mine after they were up a while.
Bob on our shades the screw goes through a small piece of hard plastic that the strings attach to. All I had to do was loosen the screw a little and either tighten or loosen the strings by turning the plastic that the strings are attached to and re-tighten the screw. It is a trial and error process.
While we are on these Day/Night blinds.......
Has anyone ever cut down a larger size to fit a smaller window.....
Any dont do this stories?
Cliff
I use the same method as H3Jim, seems to work well.

By Golly Rob...you are a Gentleman and a Scholar (and hopefully a good judge of bad whiskey)!
I'll just print that article out and give it to She Who Will Not Be Disobeyed along with a screwdriver of the proper size and advise her that since I'd tried and failed to meet her specifications for proper adjustment of the blinds it is now her turn since the instructions are plain for all to see.
Should there be an unexpected Obituary in my near future I will rely on one of my close friends to notify the Membership.
