Title: Still Looking For a Dash
Post by: Dreamscape on July 27, 2007, 07:37:44 PM
I am still looking for a dash, prefer Eagle Model 10. With or without gauges. Not having any luck so far with vendors.  :'( Any ideas?

Happy Trails,

Paul

Paul,

Have you checked with Silver Eagle in south Texas?  They are supposed to have quite a stock of old parts.

Good luck,
Darrin

Darrin,

I have checked with Silver Eagle, B & B in Las Vegas and Tejas, have not heard back from Tejas. Thought I would give this one last try. If nothing works out I'll build my own, I guess.  :( Silver Eagle can make me a new one, they have a mold. Gary at B&B said he would call back if he found one, no call. Just like the looks of the 10 dash. Of course could get a new one from Custom Instrument Panels. R & M Fiberglass has them available also. Just thought I would try used first.

Paul,

Check with Bart Grabhorn in Scappoose, Oregon at 503-543-6407 or E-Mail: busbart@comcast.net .  He had a Model 10 he was parting out....maybe the dash is still available? :-\  It was on his website at http://www.grabhorn.com/ for a long time, but I don't see it listed anymore.  However, it is still listed in the Tejas Coach classifieds.

Good luck, :)
Darrin

About 3 years ago at the Caverns get together there was a black guy from Orange county, Ca that drove a GMC motorhome and pulled a trailer with his custom dashes displayed there.  Maybe someone remembers his name?  Good Luck, TomC

Maybe I should have been clearer

The guy at the caverns DEFINITELY IS

His name is MACK (sp??)
http://www.custominstrumentpanels.com/

He's well known in the GMC M/H community (which I still keep in touch with - cause my RTS is the GMC M/H's BIG/little Brother)

or my RTS is a GMC M/H on steroids ;-)

I like R & M stuff, not sure of the dash however. I do like the fact it comes with the cover for the right side though. Still trying to determine which way to go. Pictures posted on this would be great. I have seen Pete's, Eagle Fantasy, his looks great. Looking for others to compare.

Thanks,

Paul

Thanks Pete, I had not heard of them, I will call them today. There has to be a graveyard for buses somewhere in Texas. I would like to find one, just for good measure.
I finally made it home last night after many delays at airports due to bad weather. Only took 8 1/2 hours to get from Minneapolis/St. Paul to Abilene, 3 1/2 total flying time, go figure.

Paul,

Sonnie Gray replaced the entire front clip on his Eagle....maybe he has an extra dash laying around? :-\

Did you check with Jefferson Bus in OKC?

What about Texas Custom Coach in Pipe Creek, TX?

I will keep my eyes open as I travel around Texas. :)

Good luck,
Darrin

Darrin,

I checked with Jefferson, no dashes available. I am waiting for a couple of replys from others that I have contacted. I will get in touch with Sonnie and see what he has. Did not know of Texas Custom Coach, will call them today. Stay cool as it is going to be a hot week. Maybe it will dry out Hickory Creek Campground. ;)
Thanks for the reply.
