Title: Muffler for MC5A..almost a new topic...
Post by: Ncbob on July 25, 2007, 09:43:30 AM
I really dislike to start a new query on someone else's thread for fear of digressing away from their inquiry so at the expense of possibly being redundant I'm starting a new thread and praying for your indulgence.

I too am looking for a replacement muffler for my MC5A and so far the prices I've been getting are jump starting my pacemaker.

Might anyone have an after market parts number for a replacement muffler?  This rascal is 36" long, about 16' wide and 12" high with a 5" inlet and a 4" discharge (slightly staggered form the horizontal C/L) on the rear end of the muffler. In short something one would find at the local truck parts store.

Dallas and I are going to see my local muffler guy today but I don't think there's much hope in him finding one. My last price from MCI was $800.00 + freight.  That smarts!

How about one of you researchers give an old man a hand with what, for me, is a real problem?

By the way...contributions will be accepted.  Isn't it terrible to be shameless?

I thought MCI offers free freight on anything over $100?

If there is a Cummins dealer you can stop at?  Nelson Mufflers (Now part of Cummins Filtration) has 100s of stock mufflers and one may match your application.

Ncbob, I have a muffler from my 5C looks solid. Does have a dent in it. Would sell for 50 or less but shipping is not cheap.  Tom Y
