Title: insulation
Post by: JohnEd on July 23, 2007, 10:14:49 AM
Nick Badame et all,

I was looking at Nicks coach and noticed that he didn't use spray foam in the ceiling.  I thought that was the best stuff for insulation and it also quieted the coach tremendously.  Why for did he use that silver bubble wrap.  What is that stuff?  Sure did a really neat job of installing it.

Thank you,

John

Since Nick is in the business, probably got the foil bubble wrap for cheap.  Having the bus spray foamed isn't cheap.  I had mine done in 1994 for $1,650 then.  But with 2.25" of foam insulation, rarely do I have to use all three of my roof airs going down the road-usually two work just fine.  Good Luck, TomC

Tom,

Thanks for the response.  I am a believer in sprayed foam.  Read many, many testimonials.  I figure Nick could use whatever he liked given his involvement in the ref. industry.  I wondered why he chose bubble.  What is the comparison in insulation value and cost?

Thanks again,

John
