There was a terrible motorhome fire this past week. Details can be found at:

Unfortunately, this kind of thing happens all too often. My collection of stories and photos continues to grow.
In that thread, I posted a reply that mentions a major refrigerator recall. As noted in my reply on that board, you should check your refrigerator against the recall. One of the better sites that details the recall is:

Wow! Glad to see no one was injured. It says it might have started in the engine compartment. Any other information as it comes up will be watched closely.

Hi Jim,
This is unfortunate... If anybody needs the recall kits, I stock them and you just pay shipping. [usually about $8.00]

Follow this link if your refrig was manufactored between 1997 and 2003
TWO DOOR ONLY! The bottom of the boiler can crack which could result in a fire!

Hi Nick,
We have a Dometic two door side by side gas/electric refrigerator that we bought for our bus that we just sold. We bought it in 2000 and never got far enough on the bus to use it. Are the side by side two door models included in the recall?
Thanks, Sam 4106
Hi Sam,
[I stand corrected]
The New Dimentions side-by-side Mo # NDR262 is the only one included in the recall.

Hi Nick,
Our Dometic two door is a model # NDR 1292 so it is not on the recall list. It is unused but it has slight damage to the trim, near the bottom, and is 7 years old. We paid $1800 for it at a surplus store.I have someone interested in buying it, but I don't know how much to ask, any suggestion? Thanks for your help. Sam 4106
Hi Sam,
If you are not sure what to ask then my rule is 1/2 the price of new. New on your model is $2700..
Good Luck

Hi Nick,
Thanks for the advice. We had talked about asking $1200 but I think $1350 is a better starting point and we can always come down, if necessary. Once again, thanks for your help, Sam 4106
