I had a very interesting experience with the fuel line of my newly installed Honda EV6010 gasoline water cooled g6KW enerator.
Since installed it has been used only 27 hours on one 6400 mi trip and one 1200 mi trip. The long trip was mostly in cool areas.
It started quickly yesterday morning as usual but ran only about two minutes and quiit. It started right up again and did the same thing-ditto for about six times. The last time it ran for about 6-8 min and quit. I checked it over and could find no reason for the problem.
When I installed the gen I made service loops for all connections including the fuel line. These loops are about two feet long so the gen can slide out for troubleshooting while still connected. I looped the fuel line up and hung it on a convenient bolt. This made the fuel line about a foot higher than the gen fuel pump and the incoming fuel line.
Just on a hunch I lowered the fuel line loop and the gen ran fine for the next five hours until the end of the trip. The only reason I thought of this was because I remembered reading about an airplane with the same problem, it kept having engine failures caused by fuel vapor lock.
The mystery to me is why I had no problem with this previously unless I have a slightly loose connection in the fuel line somewhere and it is allowing a small amount of air into the fuel line. It had only been two weeks since our last 1200 mi trip.
Live and learn!!
Sounds interesting! I'd say plan on coming to the getogether here in September and we'll all have a long look and discussion on it! LOL!
Just joke 'n. I must say you do get out and use yer coach! Of course that's what it's for to enjoy the finer things in life! Travel & friends!

Bus's come with gremlins, they like to migrate around the bus. They are also extremely mean. They like to give you a sense of security, that everything is OK and then blindside you. Too bad you found the problem so quick this really makes them upset, their next attack will be much worse!!.
They got me on my 6010, the F1 fuse. It was burned out, but tested good. It acted like a circut breaker. The least current and it would open and then close so a multimeter would see it as good. drove me nuts. They loved that and were placated for a long time. HTH Jim
Jim,
Please send photos of Gremlins. ??? I was going to shoot the bus, :( (see my last two post), but would rather save the bus and shoot the gremlins.
Trying to kill all the Gremlins before departing Phoenix.

Here ya go..
Flux Capacitor
I'm in the R&D stage of an anti gremlin spray. Trying to come up with a name for it. I am also looking for investors for my company. This is a sure fire thing and will return you and your heirs a hugh return on yur investment. I can not tell yo much as most of it is inside info. Like a large pre production order from NASA! You will need to send funds to one of my offshore accounts to become part of this fantastic opportunity!! But hurry be for you miss out.
The EV6010 has no need to be pulled out as it has all servicing on one side. Sometimes we make more problems when we make things more complicated than they need to be.
Keep it simple and working.

Hay Dallas,
That flux capacitor is shot. You had better get a replacement soon before the goovnent bans them!
Some of you guys have a special talent for stealing threads!!
BK,
I would like to make the fiesta in Sept but may have a sked conflict, I hope not. Those moving gremlins of yours drive me nuts!!
jjr,
I remember your fuse post, that was a real puzzler, don't know how you ever found it? I have it permanently posted in my brain.
JimC,
True, but mine is a tight fit and one may need to get to all areas once in a while for more than routine service. I have removable top, rear and sides held by cabinet clips so I can pull it out if necessary and get to all areas.
A service loop is a good idea on anything. The loop was not a problem, the fuel line loop height was the problem.
