The clearance light bulbs that are in the bus are GE 624. I need to replace some of them. Are these 24V or 12V? Are there other bulbs that would work or do I need to special order these?
Thanks as always!
Danny
Are 12 volt and 24 volt bulbs numbered differently? I took a 24 volt dash bulb to an auto parts store thinking it was 12 volt. They were able to match the number to an identical bulb, but in 12 volt. I found out the hard way that 12 volt bulbs don't work in a 24 volt socket. I almost started a small fire.
Why not turn on the clearance lights and put a voltmeter across to determine the voltage?
My bus appears to have all 12 volt exterior lighting and all 24 volt interior lighting. I made a bad assumption that all lighting was 12 volt.
It should be a 24 volt bulb.

They are 24 volt . I found some 1252's in mine and they are also 24 volt but half the candlepower. the 624 is 6 cp and 1252 3 cp Jerry
Check with voltmeter. With electric being butchered over the years you may have 24V bulbs running on 12V. They still work but not very bright.
Just for your information, eBay is full of cheap multi-volt (ie. will work on 12v or 24v) led bulbs, and also complete led marker lights
Jeremy
PS. jjrbus - I suspect there is a spelling mistake in your signature, unless you are suggesting that all physicists (or even physicians) are psychic
