Title: Xantrex battery temperature control
Post by: grantgoold on June 23, 2007, 10:58:50 PM
I have the Freedom Combi 458 and am looking for the battery temperature control sensor. Anybody have one laying around?

Grant,
I do have a spare one, but only because I did not install it with the new inverter last year. It is on the roundtoit list. Thanks for reminding me of this.
However, I must ask the crew, if I have sealed AGM batts (4) 8D's do I need the thermal sensor ? I guess I have procrastinated in asking this question as well.

Gary, now that hurts :)

I will watch the replies to see if your unit is truly an extra.

Hi Gary,

Even AGM's will heat up like LA batt's. The sensor is needed to tell the charger when to stop bulk charging and switch to float.
It's a way to keep batt's from gassing.
The sensor should be mounted at the furthest battery.
