On the way back from the Minnesota mini bus rally last night my cruise wouldn't work. It had worked earlier in the day. I had the cruise swtich on, but pressing the set button did nothing.
Any ideas on why it suddenly not work? With the Series 60 the cruise is all electronic through the DDEC. I didn't have time to test anything last night as I had to get back to the storage yard before they lock up at 10:30 pm.
Hello.
Check the under side of the accelerator pedal? Maybe something under the roller fooling it that the throttle isn't closed all the way?
Beyond that, I'd be praying to the DDEC gods!

Check all your fuses and circuit breakers first, connections at batterys too.
There should be a DDEC 953 wire on the switch, make sure it has continuity to battery ground.
It goes to the Cruise "On/Off", Cruise "Resume" and Cruise "Set" switches.
Send me a schematic of your coach and I can help you further.

Food for thought, ;D
About 6 month ago, my cruise just stopped working on me as I was driving down the road. I had to brake and as I tried to re engage the cruise, it would not work. I turned my truck in for diagnostics, they said no known reason for the switch to go bad "BUT" it was the switch. A $4.00 part cost me $300. 00.

I don't know about your bus but my Eagle the stop lites stayed on1 time because of the switch and my cruise stopped working
I'll have to check some of these things the next time I have a chance to work on my bus.
Brian,
In addition to the switch wiring, there are two interlocks that will cause the cruise to disengage. One is the brake interlock -- if the brake is applied, the cruise disengages. There is usually a relay connected to the brake light circuit that effects this interlock -- find and check that relay.
The other interlock is for the clutch. The interlock exists, even if you have an automatic. In some cases, the coach-builder hard-wires this to disable it -- on my coach, it has been used for the emergency brake. Again, if it is not hard-wired, there will be a relay someplace. Both of these interlocks wire directly back to the ECM.
FWIW.

Okay, I drove the bus again today and the cruise worked fine. I checked if the brake lights were stuck on and nope.
I should have waited until I could restart the bus before asking here. I at least have some ideas if it really quits working.
oh yeah...
Shut off the bus, wait for 10 seconds, and restart.
Just like every other last ditch effort with technology?
Probably shoulda thought of this one first....
happy coaching!

Hmmmm. . . You don't suppose Bill Gates has anything to do with DDEC software, do you??
;)
