I'm trying to put together a get together here in the Upper Penninsula, I can get the Ojibwa Campground for August 23,24,25,26th. This would be just to visit and meet some new people, the sites are huge with both 30 and 50 amp service, water and a dump station are available and all the sites are waterfront on Keweenaw Bay, part of Lake Superior. The rates at the campground are 20 a night and this would be the first one for this area so this is kind of feeling out the interest, lets see where it goes.
Although i cannot commit for sure at this time, yes i would be interested. I have circled Lake Superior several times on motorcycle, so am a bit familiar with the area.
Keep us posted.
hi Cody, we are interested in a up camp trip
chris
A little more info on the campground, you can google the name Ojibwa Campground and get some info on the place but the rates listed on the site are outdated, it's a tribally run campground with a great manager that lives on site, he goes out of his way to help if a person wants another picnic table he gets you one, whatever a person wants he will find, last year he even went the mile into town to get ice for us after checking to see if anyone wanted any. The place is very big rig friendly and has a marina for anyone that wants to do some fishing, because this is the first year for anything like this up here it is very informal, if it catches on, I'll try to get some other things going for next year, lots of things to do up here.
How far from Marquette? I would be interested but would have to line up a gig or two in that general area to pay for fuel. Something on the way there and on the way back.
ron, contact the Ojibwa Casino, they have shows regularily and it's only a mile or two from the campgrounds, same tribal operation, Baraga is about 60 miles west of Marquette
I am interested and will keep eye on what is going on .
Cody,
I wouldn't mind heading that way, BUT, it depends on the what the boss (wife) says, and also if I can get someone to cover me at work.
It may be hard because we are headed to Door County the weekend prior to that with all the kids and grandkids for a first time family camping trip.
Jim
Jim, If your gonna be in door county the week before your hangover won't be gone yet. ;D
Count me in it sounds like a good time it will be nice to talk to others to see what they have done on their conversions. I will call for reservations next week.
Jeff
I've had several definate maybe's and several showing interest, I know there is a rally going on the same weekend in Ontario but this shouldn't be a problem as there is an over 500 mile difference between them, I'm not trying to steal people from the rally in ontario just trying to put together something for those of us that cant break away for the time frame needed to go to Ontario. This one is the first of it's kind for this area and will be mainly a chance to see what others are doing and to get to meet a few other busnuts, anyone is welcome, doesn't matter if you have a bus or not or what stage of the conversion it's in, we'll still have a good time comparing notes and visiting. As far as activities, that is still up in the air and we'll probably wing it a lot lol.
