Got a letter from Insurence company.
State sais that the Vin on my GMC T6H4521 271 is Not T6H4521271.. That the DMV reported it as something else and the Insurence sais its listed as T6H4521271.. ???
I got the Insurence Befor i picked up the Bus. Sooo, When I took it to DMV or MVD as they call it here ::)
They didnt like the numbers I gave them so the @$# H**S put a NEW number on it.. ???
WHY Why dont they like my Numbers.. MORONS...
Here goes another Straw on the back of an Already Wigged out Drugged up Viet Nam vet :o :o :o :o
;D Paul.... :P
I would assume the DMV doesn't like your number since it is not the now standard 17 digits.
Most DMV staff probably didn't own a vehicle before VINs were standardized at 17 digits.
Way back in the 70's (remember them? I vaguely do), the gummint in it's infinite wisdom saw that we were running out of VIN numbers and wanted to do something about it. So they decided that it would be cool to add some of the alphabet into the mix.
Nowdays, most of the gummint workers (present members of this board excepted), were born in the 60's 70's and 80's and were brought up to think that the only way things work is the way that the gummint says it works.
That's because they were raised with new math, no one was a loser and it wasn't they're job to expend any extra effort on their job.
After all, they are all part of the "No Child Left Behind" mentality.
Dallas,
You may have a point, but I once heard that the failings of the present generation can be laid at the feet of the prior generation. Remember who raised all these Gen X'ers and Millinnials.
That's right, it was them Baby Boomers! You know, the ones who brought us free love and free clinics to go along with it!! ;D!
Actually no. They are not all morons. Just people trying to do a job and make a buck. If you realy want to meet world class morons. Stand on the other side of the counter!!!!! ::)
You've got to remember that these are just simple farmers. These are people of the land. The common clay of the new West. You know... morons.
jjr,
There is some question here about which side of the counter the "peeps and maroons" are on!
I'm not a farmer, but that dig at "simple farmers" was pretty bad. Many "peeps" are not smart enough to make a living at farming.
I too strongly object to the negative categorization of farmers! Anyone who has ever run a farm understands that to survive one simply must be incredibly creative, resourceful, patient and undaunted by adversity. I doubt that any other occupation requires a wider range of skills and abilities. Simply put farming requires more talent and ability than even bus conversion. Try farming for a few years and you'll understand.

Ahh farmers. My favorites. The smartest of the smartest of the smartest. Getting paid not to grow crops.
Hoodwinkers of the IRS.
Weather is terrible, no rain, were not going to make any money!
Weather is terrible, too much rain, crops will rot in the fields, were not going to make any money!
Weather is perfect, the right amount of rain, plenty of sunshine, the crops are growing like weeds. Ah well bumper crops, oversupply, prices are way down, not even worth harvesting, were not going to make any money ;D
Dumb farmer, oxymoron. Dumb like a fox!!
Maybe we should let the farmers run the DMV?

No doubt there are a few farmers "working the system", but that can be said in all trades. I have nothing but respect for farmers. Testimony to the hardship of farming is the many thousands of lost farms.
You are poking fun at their complaints, but they are valid. There are many things that can ruin a crop. Most of the time you here about government back loans as the aid that is given to them. Important note: that is a loan and must be paid back. Sure, it gets a low interest rate, but it still has to be paid back. That comes out of the farmer's "take home pay".
So what's the probelm with a bumper crop year? The price the farmer gets goes down a whole sharply. So much so that they only come out a little better than a slim crop. The commodity buyers aggressively force down the price. Then, if it is a durable crop, they store it and sell it gradually to uphold market prices. The farmer can't afford to do that because he has, you guessed it, crop loans to pay back, not to mention payroll for field labor and past due bills to pay.
God bless the farmers. It is a career I wouldn't want but I am thankful that there are those who do.
I came from a long line of farmers. The quote is from Blazing Saddles..... (just tryin' to be a funny guy) ..... :-\
Jerry and others you are correct.
I have been and still am an electrical engineer at the top of my game, being the lead engr. for a fortune 100 company for 20 years, However, I still revere the ingenuity, innovativeness and cleverness of one group of people, FARMERS, they get it DONE.... with little resources and without intimidation. The just do it.
My hat is off to them and how they accomplish their goals.
Gary
Jrbus,
Please stop using all the products of farms, obviously you hold such disdain for farmers you should boycott all farm products. If you think the DMV is bad you should try being a farmer and getting some of that government aid, I have, and it sure isn't worth the hassle.

Whoo, You are reading it wrong. I have nothing but respect for farmers! I've got up at 5am to milk cows. 7 days a week. When I was 11 I could drive a truck, plow and disc a field, stack bales of hay, clean and lime a barn!!! And fix things also.
I've also sat on that thing where when the white mark on the tire goes by you stick a seedling in the ground. Land bank, heard of it?
Farmers are the smartest people I have met. Look at the list of names. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson etc etc. Gentelman farmers, not in those days. Too historical for you, where did Sam Walton start? Yep farm boy.
I also think the farm lobby has the best PR money can buy. Which is why they never seem to make any money. ;D
Jjrbus,
Thank you for the insight into your background, you know from much earlier in life, than I, what farming involves. I, like Gary I was a highly successful electronic engineer with great respect for farmers. I tried faming for 10 years, and my awe and respect grew much greater, I'm now fully retired. It's a darn good thing the farmers lobby and PR machine is good, if it wasn't the other 97% of us would soon starve. It's also a good thing the IRS pretty much leaves farmers alone (returns with schedule F are almost never audited) because practically every bit of farm profit is used to improve the farm in hopes of survival.

:(
Never Mind ::)
I agree with allthe good stuff about farmers, I never thought I was smart enough to be one.
Buit, let us not forget about the question of which side of the counter the "peeps and maroons" are on!
