I have the Onan Marquis 5.5 BGM series manuals in front of me. (Parts, Service, Installation, etc.)

The attached document is the exploded view of the starter, although they do not call anything a "bendix".    Let me know what you need.

There were two styles of starters used. One is a inertia drive starter that used the twisting force of the starter with a threaded shaft to push the gear to the flywheel.  Sometimes they get sticky and the gear does not want to go to the flywheel.  Many times, just take the starter off and clean and silicone lube up the twist gear and it'll work again.
The other style which is newer has the traditional solenoid Bendix drive.  But if your starter is just spinning, I'm guessing you have the older inertia drive since the starter on the Bendix drive will not engage until the Bendix drive is fully engaged and presses on the motor switch inside the solenoid.  Good Luck, TomC

Have starter off and pin came out of end and fished pieces out of housing. The starter motor sound like bearings are out and sliding gear chewed up and threaded shaft chewed up so will try to replace complete starter .

Starter is a model 191-2132

Sounds like you are pretty much in the boonies, so I don't know if there is a location you can drive to today and get what you need.

The best you may be able to do would be have something overnighted to you for tomorrow. That being the case, and since you have an internet connection, my suggestion would be a google search on that Onan part number.

I did a quick check on that and can up with

http://www.dbsaonline.com/servlet/the-974/New-Onan-Starter-191-dsh-2158/Detail

Sounds like they can handle an internet only transaction and overnight it out today. I am sure there are others, this just happened to be one I found.
