This is one of the many reasons K&N does not make big filters for trucks/buses anymore.  Number one was that they were expensive to make since they were hand built.  If the filter got too dirty, then that could have pulled it apart.  I have a K&N on my big rig that I really liked, but many have said that the K&N just doesn't do the fine filtering that a good paper filter does, hence shortened engine life (which usually doesn't come up in a gasoline engine since they usually don't last long enough anyway).
Clean out the intake passages real well and get a quality (Delco has been shown to be the best) paper element filter and call it a day.  Good Luck, TomC

Too add to Tom's comments ... a 2stroke moves 2x the air through the filter as a 4 stoke does

I met the owner of K&N at the Harrington DE fmca Rally. He drives a Black 94 Prevost. He was from California.

He told me that he does make a filter for my 8V92 and asked for my e-mail address to send me the part #.

Well that was April and I never heard from him..

Nick, my guess is that you met Danny Allison.  He is not the owner, but was the rep. at trade shows.

Prior to coming back to K&N, he had a business selling a competing type of filter and the AERO muffler.

He was at the Memphis FMCA event in early May.  We chatted a bit and he said the he would see if they had a filter for my Series 60.

A couple of weeks ago I got an email from our Professional RV Vendors group saying the Danny had passed away.  They did not give any details.

I am not sure if someone else will pick up the line for the RV market or not.
