Title: Beware of domain renewal scam... NOTICE
Post by: Hartley on June 19, 2007, 08:06:48 PM
FYI:

If you get an email or message like this;

"It is time to renew you domain name..."

There's yet another domain renewal scam to watch out for -- domainrenewal-online.com  - may send you an email to "notify" you of a renewal in "90 days", BUT it's not your actual real registrar. DO NOT click on the link in the email.

This is a scam and they are NOT your domain registrar and will hijack your information and probably domain and bank account or credit card.

Probably the same crooks that have been doing the mail version for years.  Just found another way to rip people off.

The rule of thumb is to NEVER give out any account names, numbers or passwords via email or unsolicited phone calls no matter how legit it seems.
