Title: Vibration pulling hills.
Post by: Flyboy on June 19, 2007, 12:39:00 PM
Howdy from North of the Border (NOB),

Driving my 4104 last week, noticed a pronounced vibration while pulling a big hill in 2nd gear between 1800-2000 RPM, speed around 20 MPH.

Config is 6N71, 4 speed Spicer manual.  I didn't notice any vibration on the flats in any gear at 2Grand.

Anything to be concerned about?

Thanks in advance.

Aron.

Vibrations are never good and generally get worse.  I am not familiar with the 4104 drivetrain but if it u-joints I would have them checked.

Because it seems you notice it going up hills only, check anything related to engine mounting, as suggested u joints and such. When you put a load on something, if there is a weak point it will be more pronounced. I am also not familiar with your coach, just thoughts that came to mind as I read your post.

HIH,

Happy Trails,
