Someone ran into the mirror on my bus at the storage lot where I keep my bus. The person who hit the mirror apparently picked all the glass as it was gone. But, did they leave a note to accept responsibility? Heck no!
I'm not worried about the cost as it is a crappy mirror, but had they reported it to the office I could have been notified so I could bring out a mirror. I would have been even more pissed if I hadn't forgotten the keys to the bus. I can't exactly drive the bus with no mirror.
My bus is on the end of a row as that is the only place for 43 foot rigs. I'm certain someone took the corner too tight with their RV. I hope they put a nice dent in their RV.
Brian bring it down here and store it! We got 15 acres, and I'm sure if it gets hit I'll be able to tell ya who done it! By the way maybe we could Mark to work on the door for ya then! LOL! Oh yeah you never liked those mirrors anyway now it's time to put those new dorky Thomas take offs you got on it! LOL! BK ;D
A young lady banged into a car in a crowded parking lot. She got out and inspected the damage. She returned to her car and took out a pen and paper and started writing a note. It said I ran into your car, there are a lot of people watching me write this note. They think I am leaving you my name and address, I'M NOT!!!!! ;D

The new mirrors I bought won't fit. I thought the head had a pivot/swivel, but they do not. The mirror would not be straight up and down.
Those "dorky" mirrors are very much like the mirrors on the new Setra 417s you like so much.

Brian you musta been distracted or something as I remember telling you yes I love the 417's but absolutly hate the mirrors on them! ! ! That goes for the mirrors on the '98 up 215 & 217's too! But hey ya can't have everything perfect! Besides get creative and make those "dorky mirrors" work! After all you took and converted a Dina which most people wouldn't have done, and I must admit that so far you've done a pretty good job of it! We all thought that what you had done so far when you were here was pretty nice. So fabricate a mounting bracket and mount those mirrors, slap some paint on it, and enjoy it! FWIW BK ;D
I'll worry about the mirrors after I get the door done. There might be a way to mount them yet. I'll probably go to Napa or Catco this morning and get a flat mirror I can jury rig for now.
BK, I don't remember you saying you didn't like the new Setra mirrors. You like the new Setras so I just assumed you liked the mirrors too. I do think they are a little dorky, but they seemed to be the best option at the time as I thought the head pivoted/swiveled. I might get some different mirrors yet.
I was able to order a replacement mirror head for $60 from Muncie Transit. MCI wanted over $190 for the part.
Actually, it is not quite the same as I have now. I have 17" tall heads now and the replacement is only 15" as the 17" is special order and could take a month to get manufactured. The manufacturer doesn't normally stock them and makes them upon order. I figured a 2" shorter mirror would not matter.
I would have jury rigged something before paying $190+ for a new mirror head. I want to replace the mirrors eventually anyhow.
