Man is that bus cool!!! I'd LOVE to do one!!!! But the guy that gave me my "schoolin" says the only ones left are totaled. (Hmmmmm, that may be a matter of opinion. ;) )But.... I'm sure it could never be. But it wouldn't have to be an exact restoration either. Just save the 'ol girls, ya know?! I know it may be sacreligious, but I would have to make it a coach. Especially if it couldn't be brought back to original.
It was very cool getting to go up in the "cockpit" and sit at the wheel. What a cool feeling. There are two seats right behind the drivers that the alternate drivers sat in. When they had them on parade, they would have a couple drivers so they could keep going and also have extra people to set up the show.
The history and story that I watched was EXTREMELY interesting!! I almost bought the CD but I think I'll wait on the movie. LOLOLOLOL But they are going to do some more filming of it soon.
This is the one that is restored back to stock, right down to the repops of the tires (made by Coker). The guy who bought the one at Barrett Jackson had the tires made for both of them. The only thing not stock was the brakes. They modernized them so they would be safer to drive it.
Paul and Claudiene Elbisser (the hosts of this coming weekends bus rally in Cincy) were there to see this beauty, but I missed them. The 'ol guy who gave me my schoolin had their card and said he had talked to them. (when I said I was a "busnut" he quickly pulled their card out of his pocket and asked if I knew these people!!! ;D LOLOL)
Well, there ya go folks. A little piece of Americana! I can't stress enough that if you get a chance to see this beauty that you should! Heck, even they let me crawl under it and in the engine compartment!! It was great!
Enjoy the pix!!!!!!!!
Still smilin!
Chaz
p.s. Tonite is my 14 mins. of fame!!!! HGTV 6:00. See what a geek I really am!! :o LOLOL
Oh, the rest of the Concours D'Elegance was very cool too!!! Allot of cars there I would like to "HotRod"!!!! LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL Just kiddin!
Chaz -
Nice photos - crisp and clear. Good work!
Glad you had a good time, and enjoyed this rolling piece of Americana. I had the good fortune to see Bob Valdez's Futurliner several years ago, quite an interesting piece of machinery.
Who took the pics of you? GF?
Yeah, the "Cute Chick" in the picture! ;)
Great job! Thanks Chaz! Wish I coulda seen the ol' girl closeup. Maybe someday I'll have the opportunity.
Thanks
BusCrazyTom the Analog Dinosaur
Great pics thanks, good job. Frank in Idaho
Thanks for the photo's Chaz! I'll make sure the gremlins go to some deserving recipient! Like maybe the stick and staple next to me where he had to run his generator to operate his slideouts and leveling system. He deserves them!
I hate construction generators in an RV!
Oh, and I already set the TV to HGTV tonight at 6 pm
Everybody needs to watch, "Look What I Did!"

GO BUSSING!
What a great job they did on the restoration. The fit and finish looks A1... amazing considering the condition of the original body was in when they started working on it. Great job, true craftsmen. And thanks for the pic's Chaz
Ron
Awesome!
Nothing like it anywhere!
Very COOL Chaz, Great information for us to drool over, and very good pictures to boot.
Thanks a bunch,
Paul
