Virginia Beach, Jamestown, Yorktown, and Busch Gardens.
We had a great time and the bus didn't leave us stranded (I don't want to imply that it worked perfectly though). Not to brag on the state I live in, but Virginia has a lot of places to visit, and some really nice state parks. Below are some photos of First Landing state park (First landing is where the settlers of Jamestown first landed before finding where they wanted to settle). We parked on the dune so I could watch the ships sail by. They are set up to handle all sizes of RV's so even some of you, with the big ones could stay there. Had to answer a lot of questions about the bus, even had a few take photos of it (that makes me want to get it painted). One of the benefits of keeping the bus look is that every where we went we got directed to "bus parking" and it was usually in a premium parking location. At Busch Gardens, buses park for free, and the drivers enter the park at no charge with their parking receipt. I already have a season pass so I didn't need to use my parking receipt to get in. My old little bus looked odd next to all of the new 45' MCI and Prevost buses. I had so much fun I want to make a run up to D.C. the middle of this month. Now the drive is as much fun as the destination.

Bus parking at Jamestown.
Laryn,
Sounds like you had a great time. Glad to hear no major problems. If you do make the DC run give me a yell I am in Dale City. Hoping to get down your way before too long, I have friends in Roanoke. Would love to see your bus.
Frank
Frank,
Might be up there around the 15th and 16th of this month. Still working on the details, so I don't know anything for sure yet, but I will let you know. If our paths don't cross up there you are welcome here in Roanoke anytime, just let me know when you are going to be in town. I don't have a beauty queen bus, but I am more than happy to talk buses and show you mine.

Laryn,
Now, That's a VACATION! As Marilyn just said, "COOL! Those kids will remember that vacation for the rest of their lives! That's one campground we haven't been to yet, but we intend to. I'm hoping this is the year. Glad you had a successful trip. Congrats! And thanks for the article and great pictures.
We still need to make that road trip to see our mechanic friend when we all have the time. I love this board.

That looks just fine parked there next to the "other" coaches. Looks like the kiddies had a whole lotta fun too! What a beautiful spot you had to camp in. Thanks for sharing the pics!
Thanks for posting those pics and the story to along with it! Looks like a lot of fun and a great campground.
Best Regards, Phil
