Title: Radiant Paint Barrier
Post by: Kiwi55 on June 01, 2007, 02:01:23 PM
I don't know if this is of any use to anyone, but I have read the posts on painting the roof with ceramic based paints. This MIGHT provide the same or similar effect for a much cheaper cost.

(I hope I'm allowed to post a link to another (non bus related) board.

I have this mixed into the clearcoat on top of my bus

probably worth the extra $60 when it was getting painted.

I would guess that the ceramic additive has saved me probably $300 in electric over the past 2 years
and I added mine to kool seal when I did my MC9, I know it works because it's still fairly cool inside the bus after the sun is out and the air temps are 80+, The windows are a lot warmer than the ceilings for quite a while. My hallway is ceiling is cool to the touch even when the outside temps are 90 degrees.

I got mine from the supplier listed above and am just tickled with how well it works.
I just recently got my hallway insulated and now the a/c cycles after being on for 10 minutes in the
bedroom and I still have a long way to go yet on exterior and interior work.
