I have a ZipDee awning and we love it. We live outside most of the time so it's nice to get out of the direct sun ... happy hour doesn't last as long sit in the direct sun makes me want it have a nap ... so for that alone, makes it worth it.  ;D

As said beats the sun, nice to sit under when there is a light shower and it will also help keep the bus cooler.  I have a 24 foot awning as well as over all windows. Only way to fly.

We not only have a patio awning, we also have window awnings. It sure helps keep the bus cooler, but the trade-off is it is much darker in the bus during the day.  Jack

Bob's RV salvage is High Springs FL may have something you can use.

As you can see by my ID photo, I love awnings. I have TWO on each side [yep, that's right, FOUR total.] I did have an advantage though, I was working at a RV dealership and made them up by going through the junk pile.

This is the third vehicle I've had that I put patio awnings on both sides and, except when in a cramped space, love putting out both of them. Keeps it cool in the summer and dry in the rain. Also much nicer to work on ANYTHING in the shade/dry.

My way.

It's the best room in the parked bus.  Your destination is where you want to put your awning.
-Go for power if you can and
-try to work it out  that its over the door.

Ross had a power one that wasn't too expensive, and check out the oddysey websit too

$.02 worth

They come in two different pitches, flat pitch and steep pitch.  Which one is better?  ???

Things roll off steep pitched ones better. Including rain. It might suprise you how much rain an awning can collect and how much it weighs. I have seen fabrics ripped, tubes bent and arms pulled loose by the weight of collected rainwater.

When your awning is out always have one end lower than the other.  That way if it rains the water will run off and not collect.  Course don't do like I did in a hard rain and stand at the low end.  Man that water came off the awning in no time and right down my back.  Luckily it was warm and we were more intent on watching the storm come across Lake Powell.  Now I know not to do that.
