I'm looking to join the ranks as a bus owner soon. Question: Most State campgrounds have length limits of less that 35'. Are buses limited to just the private campgrounds? What do you guys do? Thank you all.
In Indiana we stay in State Parks. In Arizona on B.L.M. land. Only been turned down one time in Southern Ca. 40 ft. MCI with toad.
I've seen a few 40'ers in Stateparks in Tn, NC and SC
We stay in State Parks (and County Parks, Municipal Parks, and National Parks) all the time with our 40' coach. We've only had to turn away (or been turned away) once or twice in three years. Oddly, the place where we have had the most trouble is California, which tends to have short spaces and bollards at the end to keep you from hanging over the end of the space. Even then, we usually manage to find a space that we can squeeze into.
We're now tagging the posts on our blog with labels, and some of the labels are "State Parks", "National Parks", etc.. So you can surf over to our blog, and click one of those labels along the right side, and you will see all the posts describing our state (or other) park experiences. Most posts have a link to a map showing the location, and on some, there are also photos. It's at http://OurOdyssey.BlogSpot.com.
FWIW.

We love state parks, and that is one of the reasons we got a 4106 (my driveway was also an issue). 35' and lower than most, so we get to keep our roof airs intact.
Thanks everyone. I should have specified California. However, it sounds like there are always good options. Good note regarding the height as well.
