I just checked today regarding the same question.  I contacted State Farm and they wanted pictures of the cooking surface, water (sink) and bed before they would write the policy.  This was from their underwriter.

Is this standard procedure?

I've been shopping around for coverage and have run repeatedly into the questions "Was it converted by a professional bus converter?" or "Which company did the conversion?".  When I answer that I did it or am doing it, they respond that they are unable to provide coverage.  I am concerned that this appears to be the direction the insurance companies are going.  I just sent a quote request to AON.  I will report back how it goes.

I just got State Farm as well, for an insured value of $50,000 full coverage. I am paying 391.89 yearly.

We have State Farm, as well. We did not buy the compresensive for two reasons: one, the premium was more than all the rest of our coverages, combined. This was because this coverage has the most claims cost, according to the agent. Two, the only coverage we could get for the value of the coach was ACV. They claimed that there was no agreed price coverage.

It was our feeling that we would have trouble getting more than $30,000 from them if the coach was totaled.

Ours is a home conversion. They didn't require photos, but we have been with them for 30 years and have a good claims history. The policy was issued in Washington state. The agent says that there is no limit on the roadside assistance coverage. I wonder how that would work, in practice.

The premium was $327 for $1,000,000 liabilty for bodily injury and property damage, personal injury protection, collision, emergency road service, underinsured motorist bodily injury and property damage. The comprehensive would have been something like $382, IIRC.

For what it's worth.
