I was noticing that later models MCI buses send the hot air pulled out of the radiators straight out the back of the bus rather than down onto the engine. (C3's and others IIRC)
It would be little trouble to cut 2 holes and install grilles into the door that raises for the fan mitre box and change the blowers to duct out the back rather than down onto the engine......
Seems like it would help cool the engine to have fresh outside air coming in thru the curb and driver rearmost doors and sending that 180 degree air away from the engine.....
I know it made a big difference when I cut an access louvre to bring the air cleaner air in from outside and blocked off the old air route that was sucking up hot air into the engine. It runs better and cooler for a few $$$$.
Any thoughts?
IBP sells louvered rear door skins. That would be lots cheaper than re-engineering the blower setup. They made a noticable difference in running temp on my MC9.

Chuck, I don't think the radiator air is hurting you near as much as the exhaust headers and pipe to the turbo and the remaining exhaust pipe. Wrap it and you will see a major difference.
My exhaust is wrapped. I'm not having cooling issues, I just wanted to throw out a new subject on the board.
After 5+ years of reading most every day, it seems that just about everything has been addressed at one time or another.
Chuck,
What are you wrapping with? Where do I get it?
Thanks,
Bill
Still in Phoenix
This is the place I got my exhaust wrap for my gen. Haven't had the $$$ to do the engine exhaust but soon. After putting it on the gen exhaust I can hold my hand against the exhaust.
