This is just a suggestion to the moderators to get this Board back on track like it use to be. This is a quote from the Home page of this board.
News:This BB is intended for the sole purpose of sharing conversion and bus related information among visitors to our web site. These rules must be followed in order for us to continue this free exchange of info. No bad mouthing of any business or individual is permitted.

Thanks JCB!
Your right, we will clean it up.
Nick-
I am glad to hear that things will start to improve. This is the best bus board on the net as far as I am concerned. I've never had a problem with anyone myself, but I have seen the aftermath of a thread gone bad, and it's not a pretty sight. It is easy for a thread to get out of hand if you don't make the effort to stay on topic.

The problem is though, if we step in to stop a thread, we as moderators are accused of censorship. If we let it run it's course, we are accused of "but on this board with 50 moderators they just sit back and do nothing, then kick who ever off the board".
As far as I know, only 2 people have been pemanently banned from this board, and that was after much discussion between the 5 moderators.
The reason for the banishment was because of the rule that there be no bad mouthing.
It can't be both ways and we try to give as much leeway as we can, but it does take a little bit of adult restraint and responsibility among the members to police themselves.
This board is put up for YOU, and YOU are the ones that need to keep it clean.
What would possess any of you here to say some of the things you say to each other on this board?
Would you say the same thing in person? I seriously doubt it. If it didn't come to blows, it could come to lawyers.
Now, all of you, make up your minds, do you want us to ban members left and right, deleting threads whenever we don't like the content? Or would you rather grow up a bit and behave like responsible adults.
the choice is yours..... decide how you want it, let us know, and we'll take it under consideration.
Now, Let's get back to talking about buses.

3 or 4 years ago when I first started reading the MAK board it was the old format and I read it nightly for entertainment, the bickering and flare-ups were funny.
I knew no-one and had no idea what started these feuds. Posts by Tom C and a few others offered civility in the midst of mayhem. I think it was mostly because you could post anonymously.
Now, especially since the new format, it has become a very informative and sane board, thanks to the moderators.
I try not to irritate any one with my posts but sometimes I don't succeed. For any unnecessary rudeness I've bestowed on anyone, I apologise. One of these days I'll be on the road and camp with all of you guys.
I try not to get involved in any spats because it's like an old sage told me once, "It is better to remain silent and have people doubt your intelligence, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt".

If a thread does not meet the above guidelines it should be deleted by the moderators. We have rules and laws in this country and most people obey them but you will always have a few people that push them to the limit. Clean up this board and lets get back to discussing bus conversions not O T subjects. We have lost a lot of great informational people because this BB has lost it's direction.
Just my opinion.

I disgree. There will always be disagreements in a public forum. Your version of something that should be deleted may differ from someone elses. If you don't want to read a dispute between two people....Don't. No one is forcing you click that thread. If one person is constantly causing problems, then ban the person. Deleting every post that leads to an argument is not the answer. Some good information sometimes comes out of those arguments.
That said, I'm not real sure what you are talking about. I haven't seen anything worthy of deletion in quite some time.

As Dallas said, policing of the BB should start with the members. Don't post remarks about a person that you would not tell them to their face.
The moderators all realize that no matter what we do, we will NEVER please everyone. Some want us to be more strict, but if we become stricter about what gets posted and start deleting post, others will be upset because we are censoring the BB. So you see, as a moderator it is a no win situation. Even within this thread, the members are disagreeing about what should or should not be allowed. Personally, I see nothing wrong with discussions, as long as there is no name calling, flaming, or bad mouthing, but this is only MY opinion and opinions are like a$$holes, everyone has one and most stink.
OT topics are often a grey area. Some topics such as bees, jokes, etc. are obviously off topic. But some topics are in a grey area such as someone asking about a building, or an area of the country they are planning to move to. Although these are not truly bus conversion subjects, I feel they are related (IMHO), while others may feel they are not related and should be deleted.
Let's try to act adult about our post. If you don't care for what is in a thread, don't read it. If the moderators find one that we feel is "over the line" it will be deleted. Of course, someone will be upset when that happens. Jack
Well said Jack & Dallas..
This thread is also being locked down because of emotions going astray.....
Lets get back to Busses!
