Lots of depends on in that
I think it is cheap enough if it is in average or better shape
With the genset in you can do a lot of steel tent camping while you finish it out.
If the 8V71 is in good shape and the 740 is up to speed the rest of the stuff ( brakes, rads, tires and lights etc. ) can be tackled as you go.
Remember this is just the start --- I was told that a bus is like a hole in the driveway into which you shovel money.
Welcome to the madness

A picture is not worth a thousand words, Could be a great deal, could be a piece of junk!! On the other hand the genset and AC's are almost worth that much.

Did anyone mention Busnuts Anonymous, I'm not saying I think you have a problem or anything.
I agree with everyone else. It could be worth your time to personally go check it out. Look for rust in the blower compartment, spare tire compartment, and the main air beams.
I have met the gentleman at the bus repair shop in Winters last year. Also has several Eagles that he is working on.
I could check it out if you want and give you some more detail or pictures. Its only about 50 miles from me.
Let me know.
Happy Trails,

Dutch,
She look pretty straight in the picture. Just keep in mind that most of 'em look pretty good in a photo taken from 40' away! You will want to know if the windshields are good, how leaky the Detroit is, whether or not the owner has any documentation of the rebuild and what was done, how much evidence of rust you can see, etc., etc. Do you plan to check it out in person, or at least have someone familiar with these buses take a look for you? I guess you can buy a bus sight unseen for 8 g's and be lucky, but I would want to take a close look. Disclaimer: I don't even have one yet. Been studying, researching, following this board, and tire kicking for several years now and I'm getting close! Looked at four in the last few weeks in three Tenn., Oklahoma, and PA. I see myself as having a lot of intellectual bus knowledge, but very little practical knowledge.
Just my viewpoint. These guys can help! Good luck.
Hi yo sliver, There is an MCI 8 in NW Pa for sale. Converted and never a hound, not sure of a price but could ask and let you know if you would like. Tom Y
