The book shows a cross section of a dide window and no detail as to how the frame stays in. it says to take out a window you have to remove the hinge retainers but I don't see what they look like. The frames look like the inside holds the outside in or is it more complicated than that Jerry
Well I guess that no one has taken the windows out so guess I will give it a try myself Jerry
Jerry, It is really that simple. Just remove the inside frame retaining rings and the whole thing falls out.
Jerry,
I f your taking the whole frame/pane assembly out. I believe you can pull the pins up top, or take screws out.
get help or lay it on some scaffolding.
I f your just taking the glass out then you can do like you said from the inside.
oOk I will set a piece of plywood against the outside of the bus and let the windows drop and slide to the ground. Thanks Jerry
I have a MC7 so things may have changed with other models.
On a 7, you release the emergency catches on the bottom of the windows first.
Take the time to free up the windows by pushing them out of the frame. Once they move freely, push them partially closed.
On the outside - remove the drip rail over the windows.
Using a pair of Phillips screws drivers, remove the hinge pins out of the top of the window.
Two people on a proper scaffolding or similar should then be able to remove the window. "Open" the window first by easing the bottom out. Once the window is tilted out far enough, it will come free of the hinges and drop down.
You can now remove the hinge halves from the bus.
To remove the frames, drill out the rivets holding them to the bus framing and pull them out.
As always for you safety and comfort, make sure you have plenty of your favorite beverage near by to aide you in the removal process.

Jerry,
Be careful and get some help. Those buggers are pretty darn awkward and heavy.
a grinder works really well for the hinge rivet removal on the bus side.
