Title: fast idle
Post by: mc8 tin tent on May 02, 2007, 08:11:03 PM
A little help please!!!
This last week our bus fast idle would not go back to normal idle when the control switch was turned off.I found the elect. over air relay was stuck( I could hear air dumping  <slowly> from the vent on the bottom of the relay ,with the switch off). I was able to get the relay to switch over with a firm/gentle REDNECK whack with a channel locks!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can the relays be repaired or replaced????????
The return trip went great nooo problems!!!!!!!!!
Does any one have any input on this>>.
Thanks to all

Chances are it is just gummed up with heavy oil. Worth pulling it apart, cleaning and putting it back after a light lube.

I've had similar problems with most of the small air stuff - specially the air cylinders on the clutch, belt tensioners and the fast idle and stop cylinders.
