Started looking for a campground near Asheville, NC for mid-May. The problem now is way too many choices here. Any recommendations?
Thanks,
Len

Len if you are in the area give me a call. I am in Lenoir east of ashville. Marion at the foot of black mountain has several real nice places. There are two on hy 80 north out of marion that are real nice.
Two bad the parkway is not open yet. It has the best there are for the price.
there is a aol on hy 70 between ashville and blackmountain on hy 70.
If we could get to nc bob in franklin. he could recomend several places.

Len and Ned..... I've not had an Internet connection since the 10th, when we left FL, but we are home in Franklin, NC now and at our summer campground. I must have felt Ned take my name in vain so I cranked up the 'puter at the first opportunity.
A few questions Len....children? What are you looking to do? If you have a toad you can park at one of many fine campgrounds and do your touring. We're 70 miles west of Asheville in a nice little campground that doesn't raise their nose at a 39 year old pile of S/Steel. There's a KOA over in Cherokee that Cliff (Florida Cracker) and family really enjoyed last summer...great for kids.... or as Ned sez many, many near Asheville.
If we can do anything give us a note or a shout. Cell (828) 371-6535

there was a great little campground south of Dillsboro - can't remember the name ....
Have stayed at Campfire Lodings. Great campground and fairly handy to town. The view is not to be beleived! The road in is steep! Will stay there again. No problem with a bus.

Niles....could that have been the Fort Tatham Campground? Crikey, that's only about 15 minutes from us. Let us know if you stop there again.

gives pretty high ratings to Mama Gertie's Hideway Campground in Swannanoa. I think we will give that a try unless anyone knows someting I don't.
