Nick:

I have been following this news story all day, and words cannot describe the range of emotions I have been through. Mostly right now, I am just numb.

I don't know if you noticed it at Bruce's Delaware get together, but the front of my 4104 proudly displays a Virginia Tech license plate.  As an '82 Engineering grad, I spent many hours in the buildings pictured in the news stories today. By coincidence, even the paint scheme on my 4104 is close to the Hokie's colors.

My heart just breaks thinking about these kids and their families. These innocent kids didn't lose their life because of some bad personal decisions they made. They were not in some gang turf war, or mixed up in a drug deal gone bad.  These were good kids that busted their tail to get into a tough University, and were just sitting in class on a Monday morning.  It gives me a feeling in the pit of my stomach that won't go away.

Certainly, our thoughts and prayers go out to the kids, families, and all of those affected by this senseless tragedy.

Now, I think I'll go give each of kids a big hug ....

Blacksburg is in my backyard; I am sick on my stomach as I listen to the reports coming from Virginia Tech. Things might have been different if innocent law abiding citizens were allowed to protect themselves:

I think of the parents of those students, the great sorrow and burden they will have to carry. One of my greatest fears is having to put one of my own children in the ground. May God help those families.

Hi Wayne,
Now that you mentioned it, your colors on your bus had rang a bell to me. My high school girlfriend went to VA Tech. I made many trips to the campus in 82' and 83' to visit her. Also one of my best friends went to VMI which isn't too far.
So yes, this sorta hit home a bit. As lary stated: May God Help Thoose Families and Students!
