Title: hydraulic pump for radiator fan on eagle died
Post by: white-eagle on April 04, 2007, 07:14:31 PM
any eagle owners have hints on this.  my pump was leaking right around the shaft.  checking with Norris found he had seals and rebuild kit, but i'm told the shaft is bad and the gear is part of the shaft.  no replacement shafts available from Sunstrand.  mine is a 22-90 pump with 4 hose connects for radiator and condensor fans.  i've ordered a new one (holy crap, it's how much???), but i want to know about getting the old one rebuilt since these pumps don't seem to be that available.
or did i just call the wrong folks for advice?

thanks for any hints or help.

Your repair kit should come with a sleve to slide over the shaft.

i don't want to sound ignorant, which i am, but the pump guy supposedly called Norris to determine what's in the pump rebuild, then told me the shaft was no good and was getting so expensive to rebuild i'd be better off with the new?  so that's what i have done thus far.
are you saying i can get the $140 rebuild kit, and it will work with a shaft that is kind of scratched up and letting oil out.  they didn't say the bearings were bad or housing, but i don't have it back yet.
