I thought I'd post some thoughts on this forum for whatever purposes to humor my distorted mind. As an RVer with a history that dates back to 1976 but a new member to this forum I thought I'd post some observations. I've found this forum to refreshingly nonjudgemental, I've been a member of several forums over the years and a moderator on some and have found that any post is subjected to the personal views of many of the more vocal members, usually of a negative nature, an example would be of a question posed by a person on a different forum, for help in designing an entertainment center for a bay, he was immediately attacked for the very thought of the idea and informed of quiet hours, nothing that would be helpful in his project. Here I find well thought out answers from members with a genuine interest in being helpful. This forum has provided me with many answers to questions that I hadn't asked yet and I'm enjoying it, keep up the good work, my only concern is the slow speed of the forum but that is probably a server issue and usually corrected over time.
Welcome to this board and crazy hobby. I could not agree with you more! I am greatful for all the help members of this board are willing to provide. I have found them more helpful than the "experts" selling the products. I have shown folks who think I am crazy attempting a bus conversion the answers found in the archives and they too are amazed.
I will say it again, a big part of the reason I switched from an RV to a bus was the help that is available on this and other boards.
Have a great day!

Hi Cody,
Your kind words makes us all feel like we are doing something right in the world.
Thank You for commenting!
Nick-
Very well put....
I guess that I have been lucky. Most of the forums I belong to are similar in this respect.
You will always get a few that voice their opinion negatively without real explanation, but I think everyone knows just to let them have their say and move on.
.
I have noticed the same thing on several boards; the exception seems to be this board and an MG board. The overall age of the board members, on the two boards, are close and both deal with old, antiquated equipment that is hard to get parts for and work on. Over the years, we have learned there is more than one way to do it, there is no single correct answer and we need all the help we can get.
I too enjoy the encouragement found here. ;D
Whenever I see a neg post, I try to ignore it. . . . but sometimes I can't. ::)
Fortunately the moderators do a good job keeping a civil tone here & I'm thankful they clean up after the insulters. :o
(Some have called it censor-ship, I call it throwing out the trash)
well, just stick around a while, and you will see some sparks (i.e. What type of oil do I use in a DD 2 stroke... and how much air pressure in a tire, etc.)
Heck, I even ranted a few weeks ago because someone recommended State Farm insurance to a newbie. I'm from Mississippi and...
well, I won't get started again.
Have fun and we'll be with you in this madness that is buses! ;D
(P.S. I apologize to no one! >:()
Hey Cody:
Welcome. My motto ... if you haven't got anything nice to say ... come sit with me.
Kidding of course :)
