Title: It sure isn't inexpensive to retrofit to LED lighting, even with stock lights
Post by: belfert on October 28, 2025, 04:38:09 PM
The rear tail lights on the Dina are not a great design as the socket go bad.  On my 1995 I put flat rectangular Bargman lights on the back to replace the tail lights.  I just covered the old lights so they matched the color of the bus.

I just ordered the 7" round school bus style lights for the rear, plus new turn signal lights for the front, and all new clearance/marker lights for the roof line.  It cost me almost $500 with shipping and tax.  These are all stock/generic lights used by a greay many vehicles.  I was expecting to spend a fair bit less.  Too bad I couldn't get more of the stuff as old stock on EBay.  I did get three lights from EBay sellers for good prices.

I replaced all 50 halogen lights in my Eagle with round Lights. They were a perfect fit and made to replace the lights that were in there. When I removed my halogen lights, I discovered charred wood where they were located.  I am lucky the bus never caught on fire.  One light backed up to a cabinet where I keep my socks, and I found a charred sock.

Replacing the halogen lights with LED was one of the best things I did.  The old lights got very hot and used a lot of power.

My replacement bus, an H3-45 Prevost, has the same lights as it purchased them from Dick Wright at Wrico generator about the same time I did.  These lights are nice, and I think they only cost about $6 each.

They are not 6 bucks anymore Gary,I replaced the 72 halogen in the Country Coach,I used about 1/2 that were dimmable, the price jumps on the dimmable LED, Dick charged me around $12 ea for those, I have a couple left of the non dimmable  if you need spares.I know where Belfert is coming from the chassis lights, I spent close to $1500.00 for headlights, tail and marker lights for the CC Magna plus $300.00 on programing to make the lights work, you turn the lights on and the speedometer would jump to 65 mph sitting still lol I could not figure how I screwed up
