From a single, serendipitous sighting on a Chicago street in 1971 to wrangling convoys of smoke-belching rigs across the country, this true-life adventure traces Fran and LaMarr Anderson's decades-long obsession with Highway Post Office (HPO) buses.
Follow LeMarr—and his ever-patient wife Fran—as they chase down forgotten Crowns and Cummins engines in weed-choked lots, resurrect derelict rigs with roadside ingenuity, and shepherd 39 hulking postal coaches home through blizzards, breakdowns, and brushes with the law.
Part love letter to vintage iron, part rolling comedy of errors, this tale shows just how far a determined bus lover will go to keep history—and himself—moving down the road.

There are any number of jokes you can make about post office buses. They get lost and delayed all the time or just never make it at all.
I do remember seeing an article of another post office bus perhaps more than one. The bus would actually pick up and drop off carriers on their routes in New York City. Don't know if they still do that or not.
Jeffery Ornstein has a great YOUTUBE channel about buses and he did one about those post office buses that you just mentioned.
