So it takes me a while to figure things out. I had been using the Flying J Rewards card from time to time, as it provided a reasonable fuel discount, and was sometimes handy. I would also intermittently use the RV or truck pumps depending on the situation.
The card began to throw errors a couple months ago. Each time the cashier tried to process the transaction, it would also fail. And I'd end up just using a credit card. A week ago we finally called customer service. The program has been cancelled since sometime late last year. :o
I checked out the myRewards program and was about to sign up, but it looks more like just a way to market and send emails and texts to the RV'r. Yes, with enough points you can save some money on a hot dog or soft drink, etc.. The new program looks underwhelming compared to the alternative methods to save any money or receive value. Am I missing something?
And for those who may have missed it, the original program for fuel savings is gone.
Take care folks!, Phil
Warren Buffet is not going to give you anything
Haha!, Thanks Cliff - the outcome will be mutual. Neither of us will give anything to the other. :)
Kind Regards, Phil
I have a friend that runs a small fleet of trucks. I know he quiet using Flying J sometime last year because of the changes of the reward program. They run I-80 a lot midwest to back east so they used Flying J and pilot a lot years back. I think they are using the fuel Apps more and Love's truck stops. Buffet only wants the big guys.
I used the Pilot/Flying J RV Plus card through Good Sam Club for years, pretty good discount and easy on/off interstates.
September last year I got declined and called, they said the Program was discontinued.
I know Pilot/Flying J had started using the TSD Open Roads card and the RV Plus card people made them stop due to some agreement.
I would not be surprised to see them bring back the TSD Open Roads card.
