Title: RV Whisper - 24v battery system monitoring and alerting
Post by: plyonsMC9 on November 15, 2024, 08:34:51 AM
Good morning bus folks!

Just wanted to give a shout out to the RV Whisper (http://rv%20whisper) team.  I noticed that on my RV Whisper system that the 24v (Start batteries) monitoring and alerting couldn't "alert" on meaningful numbers for a 24v start battery setup, as voltage had to drop to 17.9 volts. It's all over when it drops to 17.9v so that's not very helpful.  And it's important to a lot of our bus conversions.  Monitoring however works perfectly.

I reported the issue to support this morning.  Within 30 minutes they had a fix in to my iPhone app!!  And will be fixing the voltage alert range for all customers with their next general release.

My takeaways:

I've heard others use RV Whisper monitors with water leak detection if I remember that correctly, as they handle humidity and a leak sets that off.  (Correction: I see they have a leak detection sensor for that purpose)  Probably other uses that would be helpful.  I do put their temp sensors to good use (inside temps and pet safety).  I think I'll add one of their temp/humidity sensors in the water bay. We'll see how that goes.  It will be helpful at least to watch the tanks for freezing conditions.  Probably could use one in the refrigerator

Safe travels,
Phil

I have the same system in my 12V Eagle.  You can read about it here...
